“Behold the man” says Pontius Pilate, as he displays Jesus before the crowd. Jesus is the “man on trial”, but not just Jesus, it is man who is on trial.
Set in Palestine in the six month period before the death of Jesus, the play describes how the power blocks represented by the main characters try to overpower Jesus and make him fit the slot hey have in mind for him. As one by one they fall, there remains only one outcome. As Jesus prepares for his death, he challenges all with the question: “who am I for you?”.
The play is about the human reaction to Jesus and is suitable for youth groups and small Christian communities.
